Mission and Objectives

The Center for Research in Educational Sciences (CCSE) operates within the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences of the “1 Decembrie 1918” University of Alba Iulia. The CCSE Board of Directors consists of tenured academic staff members from the Department for Teacher Training.


The mission of the CCSE is to conduct applied research in the field of educational sciences by bringing together multidisciplinary teams comprising academic staff from the Department for Teacher Training and other departments of the university, as well as academics and researchers from other institutions in Romania and abroad (pre-university educational institutions, partner universities, research institutes, foundations, or organizations involved in educational activities, etc.).


The general and long-term objectives of the CCSE are to: 1) connect university-level education in the field with pre-university education, the needs of beneficiaries and key stakeholders in the educational field, socio-economic realities, and the socio-cultural characteristics of communities; 2) support degree programs in the field of educational sciences; 3) contribute to the educational development of the community; 4) identify possible directions for future policies that are relevant to educational practice.


The specific objectives of the CCSE are to:

  • identify research topics or areas that are relevant to educational practice;
  • establish and strengthen scientific collaboration with universities, research institutes, cultural institutions, and national and international professional associations;
  • disseminate research findings through various means, including specialized books, scientific articles, papers presented at relevant conferences, research reports, thematic workshops, etc.;
  • involve pre-university teachers, as well as collaborators from other fields who can contribute to the activities of the CCSE, in research projects;
  • support master’s degree courses and other postgraduate specialization programs;
  • develop research infrastructure and information resources;
  • develop and implement modern and effective instructional technologies specific to higher education within the educational processes of the University.
